Thompson, CT USA - Numa, a leading designer and manufacturer of down hole hammers and bits, has introduced the Patriot® 50 and Patriot® 80 down hole hammers as the latest members of their Patriot® hammer line. Both hammers offer tremendous penetration rates, vastly simplifieddesign and exceptional hammer life. By addressing drillers’ issues, the Numa Patriot® hammers provide a complete drilling solution.
Numa’s Patriot® 50 and Patriot® 80 hammers are designed for various rock conditions and provide both fast penetration rates and long life. The hammers are perfectly suited for completing water wells, rock sockets, geothermal wells, tie-backs, caissons, foundation holes, elevator shafts, exploration drilling, blast holes or any other vertical or horizontal rock drilling projects. Both hammers give the ability to drill a wide range of holes with the Patriot® 50 capable of drilling holes 5-1/2 to 6-1/8 inches (140 - 156 mm) in diameter while the Patriot® 80 drills holes from 7-7/8 to 10 inches (200 - 254 mm) in diameter. Furthermore, the Patriot® 50 accepts the QL50 bit shank while the Patriot® 80 accepts the 380 bit shank. This flexibility allows customers to easily convert to Numa without having to switch over the bits they are currently using.
The strength and performance of all the Patriot® hammers will amaze drillers who have been frustrated by the influx of substandard hammers in the market. The key to these new models lies in the ground breaking Numa engineering which packs a full powered hammer into a smaller envelope that is easy to use and maintain. It is the design that promotes faster drilling speeds and allows drillers to complete jobs more quickly and at a lower cost per foot. The Patriot® 50 and Patriot® 80 provide the desired ability to run fast and run long like no other hammers available today.
Numa President Ralph Leonard recently commented, "Drillers now have an exciting alternative in the five and eight-inch hammer marketplace. The Patriot® 50 and Patriot® 80 hammers definitely fill the gap, in terms of speed and longevity, that has been missing in the industry."
The engineering of the Patriot® 50 and 80 utilizes the same concepts as the other Patriot® hammers with the elimination of several internal components. Both hammers have fewer overall parts making them significantly easier to maintain than competitor hammers. This allows Patriot® users to spend more time down the hole resulting in increased productivity. The Patriot® 50 and Patriot® 80 streamlined design was made possible by attaching the feed tube assembly directly to the backhead of the hammer to provide outstanding alignment of all hammer parts. This enhancement results in longer hammer life and improved overall hammer performance. All of this is accomplished with limited air requirements of 150 - 350 psi (10.2 - 23.8 bar) and 230 - 630 cfm (109 - 297 l/sec) for the Patriot® 50 and 150 - 350 psi (10.2 - 23.8 bar) and 605 - 1568 cfm (285 - 740 l/sec) for the Patriot® 80.
Another key feature of the Patriot® 50 and Patriot® 80 is the ability to handle difficult back pressure drilling conditions. When faced with high heads of water, both will continue drilling efficiently where most competitor hammers stop working. This is extremely important in many drilling situations where water is encountered.
Numa is a major manufacturer of down hole hammers and bits for the international drilling industry. The company designs and builds down hole hammers and bits for drilling vertical and horizontal holes 3-1/2 to 48 inches (89 - 1219 mm) in diameter. The company is known worldwide for their Patriot hammer line, which provides an unmatched combination of fast penetration rates and long hammer life.
