Numa To Conduct Drilling
Demonstration at Canwell '98

Thompson, CT USA - At Canwell '98 Numa will be conducting a demonstration of the Super Jaws® Under-Reaming Bit, manufactured under rights from Tone Corporation. This revolutionary, new product incorporates a retractable wing bit design that allows for simultaneous drilling and casing of large diameter holes from 12" to 34" (305 - 864 mm) in virtually any type of ground conditions.

The Super Jaws® unique bit design allows the wings to extend out when the bit is placed on the bottom of a hole to drill a hole large enough for the casing. When drilling is complete, the wings retract back inside the casing and the entire bit is returned to the surface to be used on the next hole to drill.

Blue Nose Well Drilling using a Schramm T64HB rig will be drilling and casing a 12" (305 mm) hole utilizing a Numa Challenger 100 down hole hammer and 12" (305 mm) Super Jaws® Bit. Numa technical staff will be on-hand to discuss all aspects of this breakthrough technology. The demonstration is scheduled to start at 1:30 on Saturday, May 2.

Numa is a major manufacturer of down hole hammers and bits for the international drilling industry. The company designs and builds down hole hammers and bits for drilling holes 3-1/2 to 43 inches (89 - 1092 mm) in diameter. The Super Jaws® Under-Reaming Bit is capable of drilling and casing holes up to 34" (864 mm) in diameter.
