Numa, a leading designer and manufacturer of down hole hammers and bits, has announced the availability of a new line of pneumatic lubricators targeted for the DTH hammer and bit drilling industry.
Numa’s pneumatic lubricators are positive displacement air-operated lubrication systems. They are designed to inject rock drill oil into the air lines under positive pressure to lubricate DTH hammers while drilling. The company has introduced this new product line in order to provide drillers with a reliable product that will consistently lubricate. Numa President, Ralph Leonard, states, “As all drillers know, the oiler and rock drill oil are critical to drilling success. That’s why Numa has stepped in and will be offering these lubricators to the drilling industry. They will provide the results DTH drillers are looking for.”
The pneumatic lubricators have been designed by Numa engineers and are made in the same manufacturing facility that builds Numa’s top-quality hammers and bits. They are offered in two capacities including 15 gallon (57 liter) for the 12″ hammer and smaller market and 45 gallon (170 liter) for 18″ hammers and larger. These sizes are made available in order to provide enough lubrication capacity for a full day of drilling. Other sizes and custom made capacities may be available upon request.
The simplified design of these systems includes a lubricant tank, a pneumatically operated lubricant pump, a supply side air filter and regulator, fill level sight gage, various connection lines, output lines and check valve. Single pump lubricators are capable of pumping up to 12 quarts (11.4 liters) per hour @1500 psi (103 Bar). In addition, they are adjustable for output pressures from 265 psi (18 Bar) to 1500 psi (103 Bar) and output volumes from .25 to 12 quarts per hour (.24 to 11.4 liters per hour). The required supply air pressure is a maximum of 85 psi (6 Bar) while the supply to output pressure ratio is 17.6:1. The pump is adjustable for stroke length and the number of strokes per minute.
