Numa, the world’s leading drilling technology provider, will be exhibiting at The International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) taking place October 1-3, 2019 in Louisville, Kentucky at the Kentucky Exposition Center. ICUEE is billed as the utility industry’s largest trade show, covering 28+ acres of indoor and outdoor exhibits, and bringing together more than 18,000 utility professionals.
For over 30 years, Numa has built a strong legacy of high quality, U.S. made DTH hammers and bits for drilling vertical, horizontal, and reverse circulation holes 3½ to 50½ inches (89 -1283 mm) in diameter. All of the company’s products are designed in-house and made in its USA plant. Known for its innovation, Numa has over 110 products that are suited for drilling in hard rock, loose strata, and overburden.
On display in Numa’s booth will be their new HDD Drilling Systems. The systems consist of a variety of HDD components including hammers, bits, side load sonde housings, bent subs, and adaptors which are capable of drilling holes 4″ to 7-1/2″ (102 mm to 191 mm) in diameter. Some of the many benefits Numa touts for the HDD hammer line include: improved steerability, fast penetration rate, simplified field maintenance, reduced air requirements, and lower overall cost per foot.
The exhibit will also include a special spotlight on the company’s utility products including utility pole drills and its Super Jaws Overburden Bits used for simultaneously drilling and casing 5½” to 42” (139 – 1,067 mm) holes. With its unique design, Super Jaws utilizes wings that extend out to drill a full diameter hole while in the drilling position. Upon completion of drilling, the wings retract back into the guide body for extraction of all tooling to the surface while leaving the casing in place. There is no reverse rotation required, nor any expensive rings left in the hole, which saves drillers time and money.
